Green lived in Sangamon County, Illinois, as early as 1826, when he purchased additional land in a part of the county that would later become Menard County. Green Jr. and Lincoln were co-defendants in one case in the Sangamon County Circuit Court in 1833. Green lived in Menard County until at least 1840.
