Hinman, John B.

Hinman and his mother accompanied his uncle in moving to Sangamon County, Illinois, in 1822. His mother died the same year, but Hinman remained and settled near Loami, where he lived and farmed for the rest of his life. In 1824, he married Jane Smith, with whom he had eight children. In 1860, Hinman owned $2,600 worth of real estate.
