Kenney, Matthew P. (Kinney)

In 1827, Kenney settled on a farm east of Auburn, Illinois, in Sangamon County. In January 1829, he married Amanda Viney, the daughter of Abraham Viney, one of the county's earliest settlers. During the 1830s, Kenney purchased numerous tracts of land in Sangamon County. In 1850, he was farming and owned $4,000 in real property.
