Loyd, Robert (Lloyd, Loyed)

From at least 1832 to 1834, Loyd lived near New Salem, Illinois. In June 1834, he served as a chain bearer in survey performed by Abraham Lincoln. In 1835, he purchased eighty acres of public land on the Sangamon River not far from New Salem in what would become Menard County.
