John C. Louderman was a clothier and merchant. In June 1833, he married Ann J. Fickey in Baltimore, Maryland. Louderman remained in Maryland until the early 1840s, when he emigrated to Saint Louis, Missouri. Louderman established the firm J. C. Louderman & Company, a clothing and carpet warehouse that specialized in fashionable clothing, carpets, rugs, and oil clothes. Louderman operated J. C. Louderman & Company until the mid 1850s.
