Morse, Jabez
Jabez Morse received bounty land in Adams County, Illinois as a result of serving in the War of 1812. Morse served as a quartermaster sergeant of the Thirty-Fourth Infantry Regiment. Morse’s original patent became the subject of a lawsuit over ownership in 1858, with Abraham Lincoln representing the plaintiff.
