Within the Islamic faith and Muslim tradition, Muhammad is considered to have been the final prophet or messenger of God on Earth. Muslims believe that God revealed messages to Muhammad, which were recorded in the Qur'an (Islamic holy book), and that these messages constitute the norms and beliefs of the Islamic faith.
