Ryan, Ebenezer Z.

Ryan was a farmer and frequent officeholder from Lawrence County, Illinois. He served as the engrossing and enrolling clerk of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1834 to 1836; county treasurer for Lawrence County in 1836; county clerk for Lawrence County from 1836 to 1849; state representative for Lawrence County from 1848 to 1850; county judge from 1849 to 1853, and circuit clerk in 1856. During the Civil War, Ryan served as quartermaster of the Twenty-Ninth Illinois Infantry until his resignation in 1862.
