Slinker, John B.

Sometime prior to 1834, Slinker arrived in Sangamon County, Illinois, settling in portion of the county that would be subsumed into Menard County. In 1834, he married Perlina Strador. Perlina Slinker died sometime before 1850. In 1850, John was working as a carpenter and living in Mason County, Illinois. In 1856, he wed for a second time, marrying Sarah Goff. In 1860, Slinker was farming in Mason County and possessed a personal estate of $500.
