Travis, Daniel

Travis settled in the Walnut Grove area of what is now Woodford County in 1831. He and his wife were members of the Christian Church there, with Daniel serving as deacon. Travis also served as deputy sheriff for Woodford County from 1843 to 1845. In 1850, he arbitrated a dispute in which Abraham Lincoln represented one of the parties.
