Walters, William

Walters was a soldier in the War of 1812 under Andrew Jackson before moving his family from Alabama to Sangamon County, Illinois, in 1822. He remained in Sangamon County for one year before moving to Fulton County. Walters also fought in the Black Hawk War. In 1850, he was working as a farmer with his wife, Elizabeth, and three relatives and owned $4,000 in real estate.
