Weinheimer, Henry

Born in Bavaria, Germany, Henry Weinheimer was a cabinetmaker, merchant, town trustee, and Republican. In 1850, he lived with his parents in St. Louis, Missouri, and worked as a cabinetmaker. In December 1853, he married Anna Frantz, with whom he eventually had at least three children. During the 1850s, he owned and operated a very successful country store in Highland, Illinois. He was a member of the Highland Republican Club at least as early as 1858. By 1860, he was still working as a merchant in Highland and owned $7,500 in real and personal property. In early April 1865, Highland's voters elected him trustee for the town's second ward.
