Nolin River
State: Kentucky
Lat/Long: 37.5333, -85.7833
A major tributary of the Green River, the Nolin River rises in Larue and Hardin counties, joining the Green in Edmonson County. Initially restricted to trade by flatboats, the Nolin became accessible to steamboats in the late 1810s thanks to locks and dams built on the Green River by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and financed by the Kentucky General Assembly.
