Located in southwestern Indiana roughly thirty miles north of Evansville, Princeton is the county seat of Gibson County. Named after William Prince, one of the commissioners who designated the town site for the county seat in 1814, Princeton was known for its wool carding and cotton industries as well as for the manufacture of liquor, flour, meal, and furniture.
