Bond of James Estep to Solomon Teter, 12 November 18311
Know all men by these presents that I James Eastep am held and firmly bound in the penal sum of twenty Dollars unto Solomon Teter for the conveyance of a certain tract or parcel of land it being the part (of a certain tract (situated in St Clair County and State of Illinois) which falls to my wife as an heir of Abraham Teter deceased.
The condition of the above obligation is Such. If the said James Eastep Shall make a good and lawful patent to said Teter for the afforesaid parcel of land— by the twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred— and thirty six the above obligation is to be null void and of no effect— Otherwise to Remain in full force and Virtue at law
In testimony whereof the said James Eastep has hereunto set his hand and seal this twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one
