Thirtieth Congress,

BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress Assembled.
^That the President of the US. &c.^
That a collection district be, and the same is hereby, erected and established in the State of New York, to be known as the Whitehall district; and that the town of Whitehall, in the county of Washington, in said State, be, and the same is hereby, made a port of entry.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said collection district of Whitehall, shall include all the shores and waters of lake Champlain, lying within the county of Washington, in the State of New York, and the county of Rutland, in the State of Vermont, and that the town of Whitehall, aforesaid, shall be the only port of entry in said collection district.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That a collector, and such other revenue officers as may be necessary, shall be appointed for said district, who shall reside at Whitehall, and whose compensation shall be the usual fees and forfeitures provided by law, and no more.
