Sec 1.^st Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the general assembly:
“That Martha Whitman Executrix of the last will and testament of Christopher Whitman deceased, be and she is hereby authorized to sell the following described lots of land formerly owned by said Christopher Whitman and situate in the County of Macon, and designated on the plat of the United States survey as the west half of the north east quarter of Section eight in Township Sixteen north of Range three east of the third principal meredian, also the east half of the south west quarter of section five in the same range and Township. Said lots of land shall be sold for cash or on such credit as the Judge of Probate of Macon County may direct and on the payment of the purchase money for the same, the said Martha Whitman is hereby authorized to make and execute good and sufficiant deeds therefor to the purchaser, which deeds shall convey all the right[,] title[,] and interest of the said Martha Whitman, and the heirs of said Christopher Whitman in the land aforesaid, to said purchaser provided, however, that before the sale of the

land above described, said Martha Whitman shall enter into bond with good security in the sum of money, as the Judge of Probate of Macon County may direct, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties imposed upon her by this act, which bond shall be filed in the office of the Judge of Probate of Macon County.

Sec. 2.^nd It shall be the duty of said Martha Whitman to invest the money which may arise from the sale of the land above discribed in other land, for the benefit and in the name of herself and the heirs of said Christopher Whitman deceased and for no other purpose whatever.”
