AN ACT to authorize certain persons therein named to erect Mill Dams.

Samuel Leech authorized to erect a mill dam on Little Wabash.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That Samuel Leech, his heirs and assigns, be, and they are hereby authorized to build and continue a mill dam across the Little Wabash river, at Harris’s shoals in Wayne county, on the east half of the south east quarter of section twenty-one, in township two south, of range nine east, eight feet high above ordinary low water mark.2
Daniel Francisco authorized to erect a mill dam across Kaskaskia.
Sec. 2. That Daniel Francisco be, and he is hereby authorized to build a mill dam across the Kaskaskia river in Shelby county, on the west half of the north east quarter of section thirty-four, township twelve north, of range four east, eight feet high above low water mark.3
Thomas Rattan may raise his dam across Macoupin creek.
Sec. 3. That Thomas Rattan be authorized to raise his mill dam twelve feet high in Green county, on Macoupin creek, on the west half of the south east quarter of section sixteen, in township nine north, range eleven west.4
This act to be in force from and after its passage.

1Henry I. Mills introduced SB 26, originally titled “A Bill to Amend an Act Entitled ‘An Act to Authorize Edward W. Jones to Erect a Mill Dam Across the Little Wabash River,’” in the Senate on December 26, 1834. On December 27, the Senate referred the bill and a proposed amendment to a select committee. The select committee reported back the bill on December 31 with amendments, in which the Senate concurred. The Senate passed the bill as amended. amending the title so as to read “A Bill to Authorize Certain Persons to Erect Mill Dams.” On January 8, 1835, the House of Representatives passed the bill. On January 14, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
