AN ACT for the benefit of William Allen.

Certain contract confirmed.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the contract entered into between William Allen and Malina Rogers, (now Malina Allen,) both from Hamilton county, on the first day November, 1832, be, and the same is hereby confirmed and declared of full force, any law to the contrary notwithstanding; and the record of the said contract, and of the acknowledgment of the said parties thereto, in the recorder’s office of the said county of Hamilton, shall be deemed and taken as competent evidence of the execution of said contract.

This bill having remained with the Council of Revision ten days, Sundays excepted, and the General Assembly being in session, it has become a law, this 31st day of January, 1835.

1George W. P. Maxwell introduced SB 42 in the Senate on January 3, 1835. The Senate passed the bill on January 7. On January 12, the House of Representatives referred the bill to the Committee on Propositions and Grievances. The Committee on Propositions and Grievances reported back the bill on January 13 without amendment. The House passed the bill on January 14. The Council of Revision not acting within ten days after the bill’s submission, the act became law on January 31.
