1An act concerning evidence
Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois represented in the general assembly That the certif coat cate of any receiver of any land office of the United States of the entry or purchase
of any tract of land within his district shall be deemed & taken to be evidence of
title in the party who made such entry or purchase or his or his heirs or assigns
and shall enable such party his heirs or assigners to recover the possession of the
land described in such certificate in any action of ejectment or forcible entry and
detainer unless a better legal and paramount title be exhibited for the same

A Bill for an act concerning evidence
1Archibald Williams introduced SB 103 in the Senate on January 29, 1835. The Senate passed it on January 31. On February 5, the House of Representatives referred the bill to the Committee on the Judiciary. The Committee on the Judiciary
reported back the bill on February 12 with a substitute, which the House rejected.
The House then tabled the bill.
