AN ACT for the benefit of Thomas G. B. S. Kirkman, infant son of Thomas C. Kirkman.
1T. C. Kirkman authorized to sell lands of T. G. B. G. Kirkman.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That Thomas C. Kirkman be and he is hereby authorized to bargain and convey away by such deed of conveyance
as may be agreed upon by the parties, all the title, claim and interest of Thomas G. B. S. Kirkman, infant son of Thomas Kirk-

man, has in and to the south west quarter of section thirty two, township one south,
range four west, and the north east quarter of section twelve, township five north,
range two east, both of said tracts lying and being in the military tract, in the State of Illinois.2How to invest proceeds.
Sec. 2. Said Thomas C. Kirkman, so soon as he shall effect a sale of said lands, is hereby authorized and required
to vest the proceeds of said sale in the best possible manner for the interest and
advantage of the said Thomas G. B. S. Kirkman, in other lands or otherwise, as may seem to him right and just.
This act to be in force from and after its passage.

This bill having been laid before the Council of Revision, and ten days not having intervened before the adjournment of the General Assembly, and the said bill not having been returned with the objections of the Council, on the first day of the present session of the General Assembly, the same has become a law.

1Robert Blackwell of the Committee on Finance introduced HB 118 in the House of Representatives on January 2, 1836, and the House referred the bill to a select committee. On January
5, the select committee reported back the bill with an amendment, in which the House
concurred. The House passed the bill as amended on January 9. The Senate passed the bill on January 16. The Council of Revision neither approved the bill nor returned it with objections before the end of the session,
and the bill automatically became law on December 6, 1836, at the next session of
the General Assembly.
