AN ACT making partial appropriations.
1Partial appropriations to members, clerks, &c.[etc.]
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the Auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby required to draw his warrant
on the Treasury for the sum of one hundred dollars to each member of this General Assembly, and a like warrant to the Speaker of each House, the Secretary of the Senate, and Clerk of the House of Representatives, and assistant Clerks of each House, to each of the Enrolling and Engrossing Clerks
and Door Keepers of each House.
Warrant not required to b[e] countersigned by Treasurer.
Sec. 2. The warrants required to be issued under the provisions of this act, may be made
out signed and delivered by the Auditor, without being countersigned by the Treasurer.2

1William Moore of the Committee on Finance, of which Abraham Lincoln was a member, reportedHB 16 in the House of Representatives on December 20, 1836. The House passed the bill the same day. On December 21, the
Senate amended the bill by adding the second section and then passed the bill as amended.
The House concurred in the Senate amendment on December 23. On December 24, the Council of Revision approved the bill, and the act became law.
