1On December 19, 1836, John Logan in the House of Representatives presented the petition of citizens of Jackson County, requesting money from the state treasury to aid in paying for a bridge across Beaucoup Creek. The House referred the petition to the Committee on Petitions. The Committee on
Petitions reported back the petition on December 19 with a report, requesting to be
discharged from further consideration. The House granted this request, and referred
the petition to a select committee. Responding to the petition, Logan of the select
committee introduced HB 214 in the House on February 9, 1837. On February 24, the
House tabled the bill until July 4, 1837.
