Sec[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly; That Anderson Hart of the county of Morgan be and he is hereby authorised to sell at public or private sale the south east quarter of the North West quarter
of section No fourteen of township No Eleven North of Range No eight West in Macoupin County for the use of benefit of the heirs of William Rowton deceased;2 And the said Anderson Hart, when said tract of land shall be sold, shall make a good and sufficient deed therefor
to the purchaser. Which deed shall convey to said purchaser all the right, title[,] and interest of the said heirs in and to the said tract of land; And when such sale
shall have been made it shall be the duty of said Anderson Hart to enter into bond, with good and sufficient security in the sum of one thousand
dollars with the Judge of probate of said Macoupin County to invest the monies arising therefrom in the purchase of other lands for the use
and benefit of said heirs.

1William Weatherford introduced SB 23 in the Senate on December 29, 1836. The Senate passed the bill on December 31. On January 10, 1837,
the House of Representatives referred the bill to the Committee on the Judiciary. The Committee on the Judiciary
reported back the bill on January 20 without amendment, recommending its rejection.
The House refused to the bill a third time.
