An act to locate a State road from Marshall to Grandview.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General assembly, That Thomas Carey and Frederic Shughey of Edgar county and W. B. Archer of Clark county are hereby appointed commissioners to locate a State road from Marshall in Clark county to Grandview in Edgar county.
Sec. 2. Said commissioners or a majority of them shall meet at Marshall so soon as convenient during the month of March or April next and being duly sworn before some Justice of the peace faithfully to discharge the duties imposed on them by this act shall proceed to view, survey, mark[,] and locate said road placing it on the most eligible route for a permanent road.
Sec. 3. Said road when so located shall be four poles wide and shall be opened and kept in repair as other state roads are; and they shall return to the commissioners court of each county a plat of same to be recorded and filed. Provided however that the county of Edgar shall not be liable for any damages or costs that may accrue in consequence of said location, if any charges be made the same shall be paid by Clerk County.
