Wheras, the persons named in first section of an act, entitled an act, to incorporate the
Illinois Central Rail Road Company; approved January 16th 1836, have not performed any act by which the right, of the general assembly to repeal their charter, could be taken away and wheras it is believed that the highly important object, of the above recited act, can be
promoted with greater advantage to the Public, by having the contemplated canal constructed
under the deriction of the state therefore.
Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois represented in the general assembly that the act entitled an act, to incorporate the Illinois Central Rail Road Company, approved January 16th 1836, be & the same is hereby repealed.
