AN ACT to locate a State Road from or near George R. Logan’s, to Tecumseh, in White county.

Commissioners appointed.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That George R. Logan, John Shipley, and Reuben Long, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners, to survey, mark, and locate, a state road, from or near the house of George R. Logan, in White county, to Tecumseh, on the Great Wabash river.
To be sworn.
Time and place of meeting.
Shall make report.
Where filed.
Declared a state road.
Sec. 2. Said commissioners, after being duly sworn before some justice of the peace, faithfully to discharge the duties herein enjoined, shall, or a majority of them, meet at the house of George R. Logan, on the first Monday in September next, or as soon thereafter as may be convenient, and proceed to mark, survey, and locate said road; and as soon as practicable, said commissioners shall make a report of their proceedings to the county commissioners’ court of White county, which report shall be filed with the clerk of said court; and the said road thus laid out, shall be, and is hereby declared a public state road, and shall be opened and kept in repair as other state roads.

1Levin Lane introduced SB 43 in the Senate on July 15, 1837. The Senate passed the bill on July 17. The House of Representatives concurred on July 18. On July 20, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
