Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly That James Kass, John Johnson and Edward H Ridgway of the County of Jefferson be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to review and relocate so much of
the State road leading from Mount Vernon to Fairfield as lies between Mt Vernon and the east fork of Muddy
Sec. 21. The said commissioners or a majority of them after being sworn by some Justice
of the peace of Jefferson County faithfully and impartially to make said review and relocation, shall proceed previous
to the first day of June next, to perform the duties herein assigned them and in making
said relocation it shall be made as near as can be in a straight line with the Street
at which said road now leaves Mt Vernon, but may if they should deem it [expedient?] make said relocation so that it shall cross the said creek at the bridge at present
erected across said creek, and said road so relocated shall be opened and kept in
repair as other State roads are.
Sec. 3. The County commissioners of said County, shall at their next term after the relocation of said road, make such compensation
to said reviewers as may seem to them just and equitable.
