Sec[Section] 1 Be it Enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the general assembly that Mathew M^cClure of Alexander County John L Cooper of Johnson county and William Sharp of pope county be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to view survey and locate a road from Jamesons ferry in pope County, to the Mississippi River in Alexander county opisite to Cape Girardeau in the State of Misouria,

Sec 2. The said commissioners or a majority of them shall1 meet at Jamesons ferry, on the first Monday of June next, or within three months thereafter, who after being duly sworn by some Justice of the peace faithfully to discharge the dutys enjoined on them by the provisions of this act, shall proceed to view survey and locate the said road between the points named in the first section of this act upon the most eliajable and direct rout via or near the cache Bridge in Alexander Cou^n^ty, and Hazlewoods, on sections creek, doing as little injury to private property as possible

Sec 3. The said road when laid out as aforesaid shall be deemed a publick high way and the County Commissioners Courts of the several Counties through which said road ^may^ shall pass shall appoint supervisors over said road and cause the same to be opened and Kept in Repair as other state roads are

Sec 4. The commissioners appointed under the provisions of this act shall receive a Just compasion for the time they are necessar^i^ly employed in the several Counties herein mentioned
