Sec,[Section] 1 Be it Enacted by the people of the State of Illinois Represented in the General Assembly, That the name of the town ofCharleston , in the County of Peoria, surveyed and laid off on the North West quarter of section numbered twenty four.
Township numbered Ten North of range Five East, of the Fourth principal meredian, be and the same is hereby changed to Toronto, Provided however, that the change of the name of saidtown shall in no wise impair the validity of any contracts or conveyances heretofore
made or entered into, or any other legal transactions or buisness whatever.
