Sec [Section] Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois Represented in the General assembly. That the New Canton and piketon rail road Company are hereby authorised to change the construction of Said rail road into a turnpike road and that the time
allowed by the charter of Said Company to commence and to complete the construction of said railroad ^shall^ be extended five years longer
