Sec[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the state of Illinois represented in the General assembly That the auditor of public accounts and the State Treasurer be and they are hereby
authorized and required to settle the accounts of James Turney Esqr[Esquire] late Attorney General of the state of Illinois, and they are hereby required to give him notice of the time and place of making
such settlement and shall settle the same according to principles of equity and justice,
and after having made such settlement, of the accounts and indebtedness ^
to and with the state of Illinois
^ of the said James Turney as such [Endebted?] Attorney General, they are hereby required to report the result ^of^ the same to the Governor of this State who shall take such order thereon as the case may require
