An Act to authorise a re Survey of the Town of Peru in La Salle County

Sect[Section] 1.Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois represented in the general Assembly

That George B Martin Ward. B. Burnett & George W. Holley are hereby created commissioners with power to cause a re survey of the town of Peru in La Salle County to be made in such manner as to conform to the course of the Illinois river, to the survey of the [?] addition to said towns and in such other manner as to increase the value and improve the location of the lots in said town & if private property is taken for publick use the same shall be paid for as provided herein, Provided that the corporation of said town shall be liable for any damage that may result by such re survey to any individual land holder in said town, such damage to be assessed by the persons under oath selected for that purpose by the County Commissioners Court of Said County. of LaSalle

Sec 2 The commissioners created by this act shall certify their approval

to the re survey upon the plat of the same as being in conformity to their directions which said plat so certified to shall be recorded in the office of records of LaSalle County.

Sec 3. By the recommendation of the commissioners created by this act, the President & Trustees of the Town of Peru and their successors in office are hereby authorised to purchase, hold and convey any real estate in said town which may be necessary for the accomplishment of the objects contemplated by this act. All purchasers however to be made as heretofore provided for that is to say at the valuation made by three persons selected as heretofore provided

Sec 4. The expences incurred in making the re survey shall be paid by the President & Trustees of the town of Peru.
