AN ACT for the benefit of Vesty Adaline Martin.

Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That Vesty Adaline Martin, of Shelby county, in this State, is hereby rendered free and capable in law of doing and performing every and all acts, which would be competent for persons of full age to do and perform, and all such acts shall possess the same validity, force, and effect, as if the said Vesty Adaline Martin was of legal and mature age. This act to take effect from and after its passage.

This bill having been laid before the Council of Revision, and ten days not having intervened before the adjournment of the General Assembly, and the said bill not having been returned with the objections of the council, on the first day of the present session of the General Assembly, the same has become a law.

1The Senate Journal does not show a date or sponsor for the introduction of the bill; however, the journal notes that the Senate passed the bill on February 19, 1839. The House of Representatives passed the bill on February 28. This bill having been laid before the Council of Revision, and ten days not having intervened before the adjournment of the General Assembly, and the said bill not having been returned with the objections of the council, on the first day of the present session of the General Assembly, the same has become a law.
