To the Honorable the Senate & House of Representatives of Illinois assembled.

We the undersigned Citizens of that portion of territory which at first constituted a part of Menard County but was afterwards thrown back to Sangamon County by a provision of the act with regard to the location of the County Site of said Menard County, do hereby represented to your Honorable body that we are desirous of being incorporated in the aforsaid County of Menard & do hereby respectfully ask that the first lines of said County may be established.

And your Petitioners in duty bound will forever pray.
