AN ACT to change the name of the town of Fairfield, in Adams county.

Name of town changed.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the name of the town of Fairfield, in the county of Adams, be, and the same is hereby, changed; and hereafter said town shall be known and called by the name of Mendon.

1Archibald Williams introduced HB 96 to the House of Representatives on January 1, 1839. The House passed the bill on January 7. The Senate passed the bill on February 7. The Council of Revision approved the bill on February 12 and the act became law.
