Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the name of the town of Charleston, in the county of Kane and State of Illinois, be, and the same is hereby changed, to that of St. Charles; and by that name it shall hereafter be known and distinguished in law.
Sec 2 This act shall in no wise effect the title to the real estate lying and being within
the plat of said town; or prejudice, impair or effect the rights, privileges and immunities of said town.
This act to take effect from and after its passage.
