Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois Represented in the General assembly

That the county Commissioners court of the County of Clay are hereby authorized to appoint a county collector at their next March March Term to collect the state and County tax for the year 1839 the said collector shall be allowed time to the first day of July next for the collection of the same at which time he shall pay the same over as other collectors are required to do said collector shall be allowed ^as a compensation for his services^ ten percent upon the amount of the state tax collected by him
