Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois represented in the General assembly.
That the County of Bond is hereby authorized to pay in to the state treasury a sum of money equil to twenty cents for each hundred dollars worth of taxable property in said County, as shown by the tax list as returned by the assessor of the year 1838.
sec[Section] 2d said sum is required to be paid in to the state treasury on or before the day of where upon it shall be the duty of the treasur of said state to recept said County in full for the taxes due from said County to said state for the year 1839.
sec. 3d Be it further enacted, that said County is hereby authorized to pay in to treasury of
said of said state a sum of money equil to one dollar and twenty five cents per acre for all the saline lands in said County, provided the quanty of said lands shall not exceed one section.
sec 4th In case the County Commissioners of said County shall notify2 the agents appointed by an act entitled an act to authorized the sale of the saline lands in Bond County approved March 2d 1839, of their intention to comply with the third section of this act, it shall be
the duty of said agents to ^pay^ in to the treasury of said County the proceeds of the sale of said lands (when collected), after deducting their commissions
as provided for in the above recited act, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
sec 5th said sum is required to be paid in to the state tre^a^sury so soon as the proceed of the sale of said lands shall be paid in to the County
treasury by said agents.

sec 6th Provided the proceeds ^of^ the sale of said lands shall amount to more than one one dollar and twenty five cents per acre the excess, shall be one half for the benefit
of the school fund in said County, and the other half for the benefit of the academy in Greenville.
