AN ACT to amend “an act to incorporate the Peoria Commercial Insurance Company,” approved, Feb.[February] 18, 1837.

Sec. of act repealed
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the twelfth and thirteenth sections of an act to which this is an amendment, is hereby repealed.2
Comr’s[Commissioners] to open books
Sec. 2. Francis Voris, Amos Stevens, Andrew Gray, Moses Pettingell, Aquilla Wren, Lewis Nowell, J. C. Armstrong, J. M. Smith and James H. Work, be, and are hereby, appointed commissioners to open books to the subscription of the capital stock in the same manner as is provided in the act to which this an amendment.

1John Hamlin introduced SB 73 in the Senate on January 7, 1840. The Senate passed the bill on January 30. The House of Representatives passed the bill on February 1. On February 3, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
