Whereas the 16th or School Section of Lands in Township No Nine South Range Eight East, lying in Galatin County in this State fell within the Saline Boundary or Reserve in said County and was sold in persuance of the Laws of this State for the benafit of the state, and whereas an act passed at a late Session of the General assembly appointing certain Commissioners to Select and locate another section of Land in lieu thereof and whereas the said Commissioners could not or did not so select and locate a section in lieu thereof and whereas there is now no land left out of which to make a selection Therefore
Be it Enacted by the People of the State of Illinois Represented in the General Assembly That Saline Lot number Two in the Saline Reserve in said County, be and the same is hereby granted, given and conveyed unto the inhabitants of said Township in lieu of their said sixteenth section. Provided that a majority of the inhabitants of said Township shall in general meeting assembled consent to accept the same and relinquish all right to further indemnity
