Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly. That the commissioners of the Illinois and Michigan canal be and they are hereby authorised (if they on examination of the facts in the case shall deem it proper) to locate[,] appraise [,] sell at private sale to Henry L. Brush or his assigns, another lot in the state’s addition to the town of Ottawa in lieu of the one purchased by the said Brush at the sales in June 1838. to wit. Lot. No 11. in Block No. 59. in said addition requiring said Brush or his assigns to surrender said Lot No 11. to the state, and to authorize the said Brush or his assigns to apply the amount which has been
paid on said Lot No 11 to the payment of the lot thus sold to him in lieu thereof. Said sale to be
in accordance with existing laws for the sale of said State addition to the town of Ottawa. Except as herein otherwise provided
This act is hereby declared a public act and shall take effect from and after its
passage.
