AN ACT to legalize the assessment of taxes in the county of De Kalb, for the year 1839.

Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the assessment of taxes in the county of De Kalb, shall be as valid to all intents and purposes, as if it had been made as required by an act concerning the Public Revenue, approved Feb.[February] 26, 1839.

1On December 28, 1839, Senator William Stadden introduced SB 40 in the Senate, and the Senate referred the bill to the Committee on Finance. On January 4, 1840, the Committee on Finance reported in favor of the bill without amendment. On January 7, the Senate passed the bill. On January 10, the House of Representatives passed the bill. On January 15, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
