Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, Represented in the General Assembly, That so much of the State road leading from Vincennes through Allison prairie to Palestine, as now runs through the farms of Jesse Organ and Jonathan Rowland, be so changed as to run on the south line of said Organ’s farm to the south west corner, thence north on a direct line until it intersects

1On December 11, 1839, Jesse K. Dubois in the House of Representatives presented the petition of citizens of Lawrence County, requesting the alteration of a state road. The House referred the petition to the
Committee on Claims. In response to this petition, Joseph Naper introduced HB 26 in the House on December 17. The House passed the bill on December
23. On January 10, 1840, the Senate tabled the bill.
