AN ACT attaching a portion of Tazewell county to Logan county.

Part of Tazewell co. attached to Logan county
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That all that portion of Tazewell county, embraced in the following limits, viz: Beginning at the south east corner of Township No. twenty-one north, range No. two west, of the third principal meridian, thence north seven miles, to the north east corner of section thirty-six, township twenty-two, thence west, along the section lines, eighteen miles to the north west corner of section thirty-one on the range line, between ranges four and five, township twenty-two north, thence south seven miles, to the corner of Logan county, thence east, along said county line, to the place of beginning, is hereby added to, and hereafter shall be a part of the county of Logan.
Parts set off to vote with Logan county
Sec. 2. That hereafter, at all general or special elections, the portion of Tazewell county so added shall vote with the county of Logan.

1On January 15, 1840, Senator John D. Wood introduced SB 98 in the Senate. On January 18, the Senate passed the bill. On January 21, 1840, the House of Representatives referred the bill to the Committee on Counties, which included Abraham Lincoln as a member. On January 23, the Committee on Counties recommended passage of the bill without amendment, and the House passed the bill. On January 27, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
