Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, Represented in the General Assembly, That William G Anderson, the step father of Louisa Jones, on filing with the judge of Probate of Wabash county, a bond with good and sufficient securities to be approved of by said judge conditioned
for the true and faithful performance of all the duties enjoined on him by this act,
and that he will well and truly account to the said Louisa Jones for all moneys arrising from the sale of the land hereinafter mentioned, shall be, and he is hereby empowered
to sell and convey by sufficient deed or deeds, the west half of the north east quarter
of section of three in township one north of range thirteen west of the second principal meridian,
situate in Wabash county, either at private sale of at public sale, on giving notice thereof for four weeks
in some public newspaper, and upon such time as to credit as may be most beneficial
for the said Louisa Jones. And the moneys arrising from the said tract of land shall be expended by saidAnderson , one half for the education of said Luisa Jones and the other half in lands in the name and for the use and benefit of the said Louisa Jones.

1On December 26, 1839, Jesse K. Dubois in the House of Representatives presented the petition of William G Anderson, which the House referred to a select committee. In response to this petition, Dubois
of the aforesaid select committee introduced HB 77 in the House on December 30. The
House passed the bill on January 11, 1840. On January 27, the Senate refused to read the bill a second time.
