1On December 28, 1839, Archibald Williams in the House of Representatives presented the petition of citizens of Adams and Pike counties, requesting a change in a state road. The House referred the petition to a select committee. In response to this petition, Williams of the aforesaid select committee introduced HB 102, originally titled "A Bill to Locate a State Road from Clayton to Worcester, " in the House on January 3, 1840. On January 13, the House passed the bill, amending the title by striking out “Worcester” and inserting in lieu thereof the word “Barry.” The House reported the bill’s passage to the Senate, but the latter took no action.
