To the Hon the Senate & House of Representativesof the United States
The undersigned citisens of the Counties of Will & Iroquois in the State of Illinois beg leave respectfully to represent that the want of mail facilities on the South side of the Ka^n^kakee & Iroquois rivers is a serious inconvenience to the inhabitants, who have formed numuous and dense settlements in this district & many of whom have to travel ten or fifteen miles to reach a Post office & to cross the rivers above named which are often impassable. Your petitioners therefore pray that a Post Route be established from Wilmington in Will county Ill by Horse Creek, Andrew Yeats, Hawkins settlement Sammons’ & Spring Creek to Middleport in the County of Iroquois, & your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray
