To the Honorable the Senate & House of Representatives in Congress assembled.
The petition of the undersigned citizens of Illinois residing on the route described
below would respectfully represent to your Honorable body, that there are large settlements
on the East side of the Fox River in said State between Ottawa and Naperville via Norway, Newark & Oswego & that the people residing in said Route are greatly in want of Mail facilities,
& therefore they pray your Honorable Body to grant them a Mail Route from Ottawa,
via Norway, Newark & Oswego to Naperville & by so doing you will afford Mail facilities to a large & rapidly increasing population, & they as in duty bound
will ever pray &c.
