To the Honorable the Congress of the United States
The undersigned citizens of Washington & Athens counties in the State of Ohio ask the establishing of a weekly mail from Constitution in Washington county on the Free Turnpike road through Warren Belpre & Decater Townships Washington county to Federalton in Rome township Athens county & the establishing of the following post offices and appointing post Masters as follows viz A a post office in Warren township Whashington County to be called Glen dale & Abisha Cole Post Master & one in Belpre Township to be called Shaws Corners & Daniel Shaw Post Master & one in Decater Township to be called Decater & Philip Shrader Jr appointd Post Master, all of Washington county The Under signed would also further represent that said mail route might be established by discontinuing the mail from constitution to Athens through Belpre & in Washington county & Troy & Rome in athens county coming throug on the Route as petitioned for saving one third of the distance form From constitution to Federalton & that the Galliopolis Mail be continued from Hocking city throug Belpre to constitution all of which is submited to your favorable consideration
